Can a spell's damage be split between the nemesis and a minion, or between two minions?
The designer answered this directly and it matches the rulebook's casting rules.

No — a spell deals its damage to a single target, a minion or the nemesis, unless the card says otherwise. You cannot kill a minion and send the leftover damage elsewhere, and the +1 from a breach cannot be split off either. Cards that spread damage say so, for example Combustion, Reeve's ability and Carapace Queen's husk rules.
